We Deserve Clean, Safe, and Healthy Environments – On Land and Sea

Mia remains committed to serving as an advocate for improving the St. John’s River within her community.  For the past five years, she has partnered with the Cedar Shoes Neighborhood Association to identify funding assistance to dredge Williamson Creek.  On Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 6:00 PM at Lane Wiley Senior Center (6710 Wiley Road), Councilwoman Mia Jones will hold a community meeting to discuss the State allocation of $250,000 for this project and the next steps to be taken.

Additionally Jones has remained true to her commitment of phasing out septic tanks within her district and throughout the City.  For the past five years, she worked to address the drainage and septic tank failure needs of the Lincoln Villas Neighborhood. On Monday, July 14, 2008 at 6:30 PM at the Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church (7951 Dekle Avenue), Councilwoman Mia Jones will attend the groups meeting to discuss the State allocation of $800,000 for Phase I of the Septic Tank Phase-Out Project and the Drainage Project which was funded by the City.
